ASABA-As the word of war continues between the Delta State ruling People Democratic Party, PDP and the opposition Party, All Progressive Congress, APC, political watchers say, there are more to it than the eyes can see. This time, the APC in the state has replied the ruling party over what it called, misplacement of priority and diversionary. In a press release sent to Afrikanwatch Network, by the Party Publicity Secretary, Sylvester Imonina, Esq, he noted that instead of the ruling party focusing on governance, they use thugs and idle minds to divert attention and play childhood politics. The statement read:

“There is a saying that “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop”. Also, when a man is given an appointment without instructions and/or specification on what to do, the person to whom the blank instruction is given ends up being a source of reproach and opprobrium to his master.

It is on the above premise that All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State draws the attention of discerning Deltans to one political lackey and author of confusion who prides himself as an “Executive Assistant, Communication” to the Governor of Delta State.

In the usual style of this Executive Assistant, Communication he falsely alleged that the Delta State Chairman of APC, Prophet Jones Ode Erue, through the State Publicity Secretary of the Party purportedly issued a statement which reads in part as follows: “Delta APC Urges  President Buhari To Further Increase Petrol Pump Price To N205…….says Further Upward Price Review Is Unavoidable, Notwithstanding High Inflation Rate and Acute Poverty In Nigeria.”

Delta APC is not surprised at the latest vituperation from the said Executive Assistant, Communication. It is a pity that the Governor of Delta State appointed such a person who clearly prefers to dwell in the realm of falsehood and speculation rather than on facts. He clearly has no idea of his job specification. It appears this has now become the norm with the Aides of the Governor, particularly the media Aides who now indulge in the crafting of lies and other forms of dishonourable acts in order to curry the attention of the Governor.

It is clear for everyone to see where Fred Latimore who prides himself as an Executive Assistant, Communication to the  Gorvernor of Delta State gets his inclination to falsehood from.

From available information, the said Executive Assistant, Communication in conjunction with emmisaries of rift wrote the said hotchpotch of nonsense for two major reasons; (1) To put the leadership of Delta APC in bad light before the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. (2) To make Delta APC and the Presidency look bad to Deltans and Nigerians”

“Ordinarily, we would not have bothered ourselves to dignify the said merchant of falsehood with a response, but for the sake of setting the records straight, this response has become necessary.First and foremost, Delta APC has channels of communication and means of bringing to the public, statements emanating from the Party. That is, whatever Delta APC does is widely publicized through the known channels. Unfortunately, the Executive Assistant, Communication threw caution to the wind in order to satisfy his paymasters”

“We want to emphatically state for the records that whatever was published by the said Executive Assistant, Communication is a yeoman/hatchet man’s job designed to discredit the leadership of Delta APC and President Muhammadu Buhari. It is a figment of the imagination of the author, as same never emanated from Delta APC.

It is an undisputable fact that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has a channel of communication. Also, the Hon. Minister of State, petroleum has a channel of communication and while it is one of the responsibilities of our Party to promote the programmes of our Party, it is not our responsibility to take over or do the work of the Federal Executive Council as assigned by Mr. President and/ or the Hon. Minister of State, petroleum”.

“Therefore, the report of the Executive Assistant, Communication should be disregarded by Deltans as it is unfounded and baseless and only exist in his flight of fancy. We want to assure Deltans that Delta APC will continue to inform Deltans of the ills of Govr. Okowa’s Government despite several attempts by the State Government to muzzle and derail our Party from speaking for the politically, socially and economically oppressed Deltans who have continued to suffer bad governance despite the huge allocation that comes to the state”

It could be recall that the PDP had accused the opposition of rejoicing over fuel increase by the Federal government.
