LAGOS-Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, will hold her 35th Convocation Ceremony on the 23rd of November 2023. In press conference held at the College yesterday, the Rector, Engr (Dr) Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, informed journalists that, the Convocation lecture titled, Empowering Nigerian youth in the present day economy,  will be delivered by a former Speaker, House of Representatives in the 9th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, now,  Chief of staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while  Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senate President will chair the occasion.

The Rector further stated that, from November  17- 23, activities are lined up for the convocation  which include, Jumat service at the College Mosque (Temporary site) by 1: 30 pm, followed by Church service on Sunday 19, at the Yusuf Grillo Auditorium by 4pm. Others are, awards of Diplomas, Certificates and prizes to graduating students from  2021/2023 academic session.

“The College will also be conferring awards to three outstanding Nigerians at the Convocation Ceremony. They are, Lady Christine Otedola, mother to the Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, Comrade Hassan Adebayo Sunmonu,  and  Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor of Borno state.”

“This will be followed by Fellow’s night which will hold on Wednesday 22 of November at the Ijakadi Hall, Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos at 6.pm and this event will end with the official Convocation Ceremony on the 23rd, of November  by 10 am” . He stressed.
