Lagos-Akwa Advancement Group (AAG), a socio-political group with interest in promoting good governance and leadership for sustainable development in society, has thrown its weight behind the ambition of former Governor and Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, to be the next President of the 10th Senate The National Coordinator of the group, Chief Elijah Ifot, described Senator Akpabio as a thinker, with wealth of experience whose giant strides in government cannot be underestimated.

Chief Ifot, is the immediate past President of Akwa Ibom State Community (AKISCOM), Lagos Chapter, stated that as Senate President, Senator Akpabio would provide proactive leadership to bring about the needed sustainable national development as encapsulated in the “Renewed Hope Agenda”, in collaboration with the Executive arm of government.

“I commend the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for zoning the position of President of the 10th Senate to the South and I want to passionately appeal to all the distinguished Senators across the board to affirm Senator Akpabio as the next Senate President, when the National Assembly is formally inaugurated in June. He has the competence, character and capacity to lead the red chamber and he will live up to expectation”. He stressed.

The group also use the opportunity to congratulate the Akwa Ibom Governor-Elect, Pastor Umo Eno,  as a worthy successor to the outgoing Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel;  as well as all our Senators-Elect, Honourable Representatives-Elect, and State Assembly Members-Elect, and pray they would work to sustain the legacies of the outgoing administration for the good of the people of Akwa Ibom State
