ABUJA – The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator. Ovie Omo-Agege has commanded a former Governor of Lagos State, and current Minister of Works and Housing Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, for ensuring the spread of Federal road projects across Niger delta States and his current reaction towards fixing the deplorable state of Warri-Benin expressway, which has kept commuters and business operation in the area backward. Omo-Agege reiterated that the energetic strides of Fashola is as a result of his dedication to duty and nation building.
In statement from his office through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, the Deputy President of the Senate expressed his appreciation to the Minister for urgently responding to the present dilapidated state of Warri – Benin Express road and for also demonstrating relentless efforts and working hand in hand with him to capture the road in the appropriation process because of its effects on the people and businesses operating in the large parts of the Niger Delta region which is part of his fulfillment as a representative to the people.
He said: “I, on behalf of the good people of Ughelli North Senatorial zone and Delta State, do express sincere appreciation to the Delta All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the stakeholders work as a team towards the completion of this road project. I am deeply excited because the completion of the road would improve the quality of life of Niger deltans by easing the stress they currently face commuting Warri – Benin Express way road”.
The Deputy Senate President believes that when the road is completed, the road being a strong economic artery of Niger Deltans, would reduce the hardship facing commuters.
