DELTA-With the current blackmail by some groups led by Solomon Adodo, and others, who vehemently accused the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, of being convicted on forgery in the United State of America continued to draw attention especially those at the camp of the Deputy Senate President. Meanwhile, both the Urhobo Youth Council, UYC, and Orogun Progressive Union, OPU, in a separate press release have placed serious red alert on those blackmailing the Senator, warning that, if the sponsors of such nefarious act continue, it will not go down well with them, The statement which was signed separately by the duo through its leaders, Terry Obieh, President, UYC, and Comr Ovie Adarighofua Secretary General, OPU Chairman (AG), Jonah Atadiose and Emmanuel Esovwocha, obtained through, Chief Peter Edevwe, reads:
“The Urhobo Youth Council UYC (UYC) worldwide under the leadership of Comr Terry Obieh warns against those engaging in vague, unsubstantiated and malicious allegations against the Deputy Senate President,Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to desist forthwith. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was never convicted in the United States as alleged by traducers. The UYC described these allegations as a figment of their fragmented and demented imagination to bring down Urhobo finest political export. The organization therefore dismisses the baseless allegations and fallacious claims levelled against the Deputy Senate President by a certain Solomon Adodo and other faceless groups. It is uncalled for and an aberration of the Urhobo’s political interest and development. It is our moral obligation as a socio-cultural group to stand against professional jobbers and cheap political blackmailers who have become accustomed to characters assassination as means for their survival. Hence, we are sending this warning to those vending sour grapes at will. The Urhobo Youth Council (UYC) will no longer sit and watch disgruntled elements bring the name of the Deputy Senate President,Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to disrepute. No amount of blackmail and falsehood will distract the Deputy Senate President who is playing a vital role to ensuring peace, tranquility and economic stability in the Niger Delta Region”.
“It has come to our knowledge, Orogun Progress Union (O.P.U) Port Harcourt Branch, that some group of persons has constituted themselves as a point of distraction and snare political strategist to undermine and detail the good works and position of our amiable son in the person of the Deputy Senate president (DSP) chief barr Ovie Omo Agege. It is a public knowledge that any person can access any crime committed in the United states of America (USA) by just making enquiries from the appropriate authorities, thus due to modern technology. We members of Orogun Progress Union Port Harcourt TOTALLY condemn in its entirety this unforgivable and malicious damage to the name and person of our only senator that have projected the orogun people and the entire Urhobo nation in this present dispensation. We humbly implore all Orogun sons and daughters both at home and in diaspora and the Urhobo nations to come together in concerning this wicked act”.
