Pres. Bola Tinubu

By Mark Orgu, News/Comments

The Special adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Mr. Bayo Onanugu has rejected the claim that the President is unconcerned towards the unprecedent hardship, poverty, unemployment, inflation, among others  in the land, following heaps of criticisms circulating in all quarters of both social media , electronics and prints, pin pointing the lack of better economic policy from the government.

Onanugu, while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, hinted however, that those criticizing Mr. President’s economic policy does not understand how government works, even as he acknowledged  Tinubu’s  awareness of the challenges facing Nigerians and his commitment towards  improving lives.

In the same vein, Onanugu used the medium to address  the trending nickname, ‘T-Pain’ attributed to President Tinubu,  now gaining ground in the social media, that, it is the height of insensitivity and mischievous to call someone such a name. This is even as he said  that Mr. President’s  intention is to put the economy in good shape, not to worsen it:

“The President is aware that the citizens are going through some difficulties” but Tinubu is not aware that some persons have labelled him T-pain on social media as “the President does not read what is on the social media”.

Onanuga  further stressed:, “Some people have also responded and called the President a different name. So, as far as I am concerned, it is a non-issue. “Some people out of mischief just say somebody is a T-pain, He (Tinubu) is not T-pain.

“The President has never shielded away from telling Nigerians that he feels their pain and he is working very hard to make sure that he gives them some relief so that things will get better and this country will get more prosperity.” Despite galloping inflation, “we are experiencing economic growth, despite inflation, revenues have increased”.
