“Tinubu is a game changer, who understands the tactics of politics and administration. He will make Nigeria a republic again, he will unite all entities and bring unprecedented development to the country. Yes, there are issues surrounding his victory, well known to Nigerians, but administration and governance will not be stagnant but will continue until the court decides otherwise”

COMMENTARY-Today marks the end of political battles and propaganda, it ends the era of impunity and failures, it ends with political recklessness and for sightlessness. It ends with Nigerians more divided as before. It ends with visionless and lawlessness, disobedient to the rule of law and highhandedness. An administration that was brutal and cruel and dark, and so, many never saw the light of life, but tears and sorrow. Today marks the end of political immorality and corruption in the highest order, today marks the end of greed and materialism of the highest order, and today, thousands of Nigerians brutally killed for nothing by helmsmen and kidnappers are in their graves living their families in sorrow and pains.
The end of incompetence and sycophancy, including wickedness are over, as fresh air now breathe as Nigerians hope for a better day, where the new administration will light up the country with their renewed hope, even as it would seem very challenging to restore the confidence of the Nigerian people that the outgoing government could not, rather lost purpose and direction.
Like Emperor Marcus Aurelius of the ancient Roman Kingdom, told General Maximus in that great movie, Gladiator: “When a man sees his end he wants to know there was some purpose to his life. How will the world speak my name in years to come, will I be known as the philosopher, the warrior, the tyrant or I will be the emperor who gave Rome back her true self? There was once a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper would vanish”.. Indeed, President Buhari’s administration will vanish in just a twinkle of an eye any moment soon today and he would be remembered for bad leadership and failures.
Now, did the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari give Nigeria a true republic?, did he take us far backward economically, politically, and socially, ? How was the country’s image when he came in 2015 and now that he is living, is Nigeria truly herself today, are Nigerians rejoicing over the end of his administration,? Indeed, you can answer for yourselves, that Buhari’s administration did not live up to expectation rather allocated to itself arrogance and pride.
They didn’t think the end will come, they didn’t think of the legacy they will live behind, they didn’t think that someday, or oneday the end will come-the judgement day. Buhari and his associates will never be forgotten for the dark days, looming weeks, fruitless years and unrepaired damages they cause Nigerians. History will never forgive them all, as their great reward await them in the coming days , weeks or months.
As Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu take over as President of Nigeria today, he will have to contend with the badly damaged image of the country by his predecessor. Yes, we know that, Tinubu is a game changer, who understands the tactics of politics and administration. He will make Nigeria a republic again, he will unite all entities and bring unprecedented development to the country. Yes, there are issues surrounding his victory, well known to Nigerians, but administration and governance will not be stagnant but will continue until the court decides otherwise. The new president should focus in uniting Nigerians, create enabling environment, do away with sycophants, and surrender himself with technocrats. He should do away with reckless speech attention seekers, professional bigots or those who doesn’t have Nigeria at heart. Institutions must be strengthen and allowed to perform their duty without interference. It is time to leave politics and focus on governance in this incoming fourth republic, even as we believe, that Nigeria will be a republic again and the good spirit of 1963 when we gladly became a republic first with so much hope and aspiration will follow us all.
