LAGOS-Joining in giving out relief materials to the less privilege ones at this critical time of lockdown by the Federal Government of Nigeria in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state, over the deadly coronavirus threat to lives, which has effected 1,676,527, 371807 recovered while 10, 1719 deaths have been recorded globally. This is not only worrisome but a serious concern to humanity.
Meanwhile, Jakin, a None Governmental Organisation, based in Lagos has joined in the league of kindness by giving out food items to persons as palliative measures and cooperate Social responsibility, to reduce hunger and put smiles on the faces of people in the society. In doing this, JAKIN NGO with the support of 21 Partners, piloted edition of her Food relief Program worth over half a million naira, and reached out to- pre enrolled 300 most vulnerable households with 1,477 members from Iwaya Community in Yaba Local government area of , Lagos today
According to the President/CEO of NGO, Mrs. Olubukola Adebiyi, who noted that the NGO from inception has lived up to her responsibility in time like this, and further stressed that the process of organizing this humanitarian kindness was done collectively, her words: “Collection was amazingly Coordinated with the support of our Man o War team, who made our plan achievable. We didn’t need a crowd, just 1 pre-registered representative per household showed up with their slip at the collection centre”
However, the Divisional Police Officer of Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, Olukole Oladeinde, has hailed the effort of the NGO with encomium and, became so impressed during his visit” as he said, “you need to upload videos of this well-organized structure on social media as a model for others to follow for food relief package distribution, this is the kind of model we want in Lagos State”.
