Senator Danjuma La’ah, who represented Southern Kaduna Senatorial district in the 9th Assembly has cautioned #Endbadgovernmentprotesters, even as said that the current situation the country is, requires collective effort, while admonishing the Federal government to calm down aggrieved youths who seems hopeless, pin pointing the rights of citizens to protest.
He advised that rather than the youths go on protest in the streets, it would be better to avoid it , fearing the hijacking of the whole process by hoodlums, which will further bring about criminality, and even strike:
“So, I’m not in support of the protest. The protest can lead to strike”
The senator however worries that the the killings of a particular ethnic group in the country is too much, warning the consequences, aftermath.
On the alleged politicians running away from the country because of the planned protest, the Ex-Lawmaker said, “I’m not privy to such information. Why are they running away, Who are they leaving the country for? But the moment you say people are running away, that means that you have some skeleton issues in the cupboard. If your mind is free and clear, you don’t need to be scared”
Commenting on the state of affairs, The Kuduna state born politician, reiterated, that, he has never been comfortable with any of the government since former President Goodluck Jonathan left office, including his party, PDP, stating, as, an opposition party, he has always spoken truth to power and against bad governance, even as he said , “President Tinubu, have good plans with great future for this country. Nigerians just have to be patient, as economic hardship will continue whether one likes it or not.. And so, there is no need for protest, it shall come to pass. What the country needs this time is corrective and collective measures, not protest. Unless the country wants to go into another war, which no one will ever think about.”
Danjuma, however warns against office political holders to desist from making inflammatory comments that will aggravate more anger, as it will not help the current situation. He therefore advised President Tinubu to call his aides and other appointees to order.
Senator Danjuma who responded on subsidy removal by President Tinubu last year, hinted, Nigerians should not blame the president but blame those who continued to sabotage with shady deals:
“People are just turning Nigerian to a place where you just come and go. Some people go and ship, assuming they are bringing crude oil meanwhile they are just bringing water, then, go and dump it and collect money”
Senator Danjuma who spoke to our editor, Mark Orgu, on a telephone interview on Monday, wants peace and understanding of Nigerian citizens and FG.
