LAGOS-The 2021 Afrikanwatch Network Communications lecture and award will hold today,  August 21 at the Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos. The occasion would be chaired by Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, as Prof. Solomon Akinboye will deliver the theme of the lecture titled, The Kind of leaders Nigeria needs…our Collective responsibility. Meanwhile, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will also deliver a keynote address, where he is expected to look at the basis of the failure of leadership in the country since the return of democratic rule and provide way forward as the country approaches 2023 general election.

At the occasion, prominent Nigerians will be honoured for their immense contributions to nation building and human capacity, they include, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, of Ondo State, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya Inuwa, Sen. Anthony Adefuye, Dr. Lilian Chibor, Dr, Reuben Abati, Dr. Henry Adimula, Mrs. Olubukola Adebiyi, HRM, Oba Owolabi Adeniyi, Comrade Anderson Ezeibe, Comrade Kazeem Aduwa, Comrade Emeka Enwelu, Okegbue Emmanuel Okegbue, Dr. Kabir Adamu

Meanwhile, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, Dr. Reuben Abati, Dr. Tunji Abayomi, Comrade Anderson Ezeibe and Miss Franscisca Nwobodo will digest and share ideas on how Nigerians can best select their leaders come 2023. Omo-Agege, Fagbemi, Adefuye will be honoured with Afrikanwatch Lifetime Patriot, while Prof. Akinboye, Engr. Femi Omokungbe will be honoured with Afrikanwatch Mentorship award. According to Chief Convener, Mark Columbus Orgu, the event is to share ideas towards building an ideological/economic leadership, capable of transforming the country’s challenges.  The highlight of the occasion will include the unveiling of the Afrikanwatch Memoir, titled, 2023, the kind of leaders Nigeria needs…our collective responsibility.

He is a trained computer expert with a certified certificate on cyber security abroad. Chidera Eke, is the acting head, News/Strategic Communications, a very committed and intelligent young lady with patriotic gesture to task and duty. Richard Ibu, is the Afrikanwatch administrative head of planning and execution, Sunny Atam, is the Afrikanwatch senior Consultant on new Media development and strategies, Ifeoma Njoga, is the administrative secretary, whose prowess has continued to give the news outfit commendations.
