DELTA-Penultimate week it was, as Grassroots Mobilization group of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege inaugurated at the weekend in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State. The Coordinator of the group, Chief Abel Ogonegbu while speaking with our correspondent, stated that, it became necessary to awaken the APC party in Ukwuani and Ndokwa nation at large. “Certainly, with the DSP at the Centre, this pressure group will massively mobilise for his political aspiration, as we hope that, greater opportunities will come to our people” Ogonegbu further noted that, with the development, there is hope for Ukwuani people. According to him, it is time for the APC in the area to restrategise and takeover all political structure before 2023.

Meanwhile, Hon. Chuks Erhire, Director-General of Sen. Omo-Agege’s office in Delta, who also represented the Senator described the gathering as a political empire that must be commended and should not be taken for granted. “Any politician that neglects pressure group especially from the grassroots will end up in total failure because they make things happen”
Omo-Agege however, stressed that, pressure groups are vital to political development, and they have the power and capacity to executive possible things within and outside their jurisdiction. “I must tell you, today’s gathering is very unique and significant to the progress of our party and I deeply appreciate the organizers. I assure you, we will all work together to achieve a common goal for a greater Delta” he added.
Highlight of the inauguration was the presentation of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) empowerment to all the wards in Ukwuani as a means of economic development. The group expressed warm appreciation to the Senator, promising to live up to its expectation.
