LAGOS-As it is always said, “Children are gift from God and the future of tomorrow”. Indeed, every May 27 all over the world, children are celebrated and given the notion that their future are bright. This view, most time motivates children to live up to moral values and ethics. This was one of the reasons Jakin NGO, gathered children from different communities (grassroot) and schools across Lagos State, to put smile on their faces and show them that, what the future hold cannot be compromised by any loving person. Therefore, children should be given ultimate priority in the society.

Speaking with our correspondent is the founder and President, Jakin NGO, Mrs. Bukola Adebiyi, who noted that the NGO came into existence 16years ago with the aim of supporting the less privilege and vulnerable persons in the society through educational support, like scholarship, vocational training, entrepreneurial program, widows support, medical assistance, indigenous and grassroot support. “Today’s children day celebration, we care for 500 children, and a lot of games, gift items such as clothes, toys, educational materials etc, will be given to them. Interesting, many of the kids are members of Jakin children’s club , she added.

Also, she called on the government and corporate organisation to never relent towards supporting the NGO, as it will go a long way in sustaining social welfare for the society.

Mr Olumide Akinosho, Head of program, Jakin NGO, who spoke with our correspondent expressed satisfaction over the love of the Organisation to children and society, using the medium to advise the beneficiaries to remain humble, focus and have good mentors.

On their part, some of the children who spoke said; “we will ever be grateful to Jakin NGO for giving us hope and confidence of a better future”. The celebration was held at Easy Nursery and primary school, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos.
