LAGOS-One of the Nigerian famous legal luminaries and Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), has been linked with Jerry Elo Ikogho, Punch reports.  It could be recalled that among the 78 Nigerians indicted in cases of massive financial fraud in the United States recently exposed by the American agency, known as Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has the name of Mr. Jerry Elo Ikogho, a friend of Mr. Keyamo.

Recently, a photo of Mr. Keyamo with Ikogho flooded the social media, who was indicted in the US financial crime.

Meanwhile, last week, the American-owned domestic intelligence and security service had rounded up 80 indicted Internet scammers, out of which, Nigerians dominate, precisely, 78. This wrong development has further damaged the image of Nigeria and Nigerians, who live there.  According to FBI, most of the indicted individuals live in Nigeria while some in US. It went further to publish their full names and aliases, along with a 252-count outlined in a 145-page document.

An online medium was quoted as saying that Keyamo said, that he and Ikogho were born in Ughelli, Delta State, and that they grew up as childhood friends. Noting further that he and J Man (Ikogho) took the trending photograph eight years ago precisely in 2011 at a burial ceremony. The medium added, “The senior advocate said the suspect is from a decent home,” advising FBI to ensure that their facts were right. “He is my childhood friend. We were born in the same town, Ughelli. “We attended the same church from birth. His parents and mine, best of friends, till tomorrow. “His siblings and mine too. He left for the US about 10-12 years ago.

“Can’t deny him. It’s a family relationship from birth. He’s from a decent family. Hope they got their facts right. The wife has sent the charge to me,” TheCable quoted Keyamo as having said so
