ABUJA-News reaching Afrikanwatch now indicates that the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), are having a meeting at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment with the Federal government in Abuja to agree on a modality towards ending the two weeks warning strike. Dr. Chris Ngige, Honourable Minister of Labour and employment is leading the FG delegates while ASUU National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi is also leading the lecturers.

It could recall that the University lecturers had embarked on two weeks warning strike since Monday, due to FG inability to pay salaries of lecturers who did not enrolled in the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) and the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement, among other issues.
