ABUJA-The legal team of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential candidate, now known as Atiku-Obi legal team has in a strong term criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over the commission’s refusal to produce polling documents used in the February 23rd, 2019 presidential elections, even after the Court of Appeal granted an order asking the commission to allow the PDP counsel to access materials which had been inspected and paid for in the previous week.
Meanwhile, a member of PDP legal team,Silas Onu in a video seen , had this to say, “Efforts to meet with the electoral commission’s legal team has become a herculean task, we will continue to follow up until the commission complies with the court order, however, we may be forced to file for contempt against the INEC chairman and other officers of the commission if they do not give a positive response soon”
Responding to this is, Mr. Oluwole
Osaze-Uzzi, INEC’s director of voter education, and publicity, who noted that
the claims are not true but if the PDP is insisting on that position they
should go back to the court and file a complaint.
