Sen. Omo-Agege

By Johnson Kwame, July 26, 2022, News/Comments

ABUJA-The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has called on security agencies to fish out the killers of his legislative aide, Cyril Mudiagbe.  In a press statement earlier today, the Delta Central lawmaker through his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, wondered what would have warranted such dastardly killing,  as he described the decease  as a dedicated, committed staff and grassroots loyalist who believed in the cause of a truly great Delta State , adding that Cyril did his utmost best to contribute towards the realisation of that dream, working with other legislative aides in his office

The decease popularly known as Makanaki,  was reported to have been shot dead in his house by unknown gunmen at the weekend in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, as the details of his killing is still skechy.

Omo-Agege however, prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, even as he remained shocked.

“I received, with shock and sadness, news of the brutal homicidal attack on Cyril, popularly known as Makanaki. Till the very end , Cyril was one of our grassroots loyalists who believe in the cause of a truly great Delta State and he did his utmost best to contribute towards the realisation of that dream, working with other legislative aides in my office”

“It is not only sad but very regrettable that audacious hoodlums  can attack and murder such a young man with a promising future in his own home the way they murdered Cyril. As the news broke, It took me no time to call upon the police and our various security agencies to urgently begin to take all necessary actions towards unravelling this saddening mystery with the aim of bringing the evildoers to book.

Late Cyril

“As we mourn over the untimely loss of our dear Cyril, I pray that God Almighty grant you the strength to bear this irreparable loss and hasten all efforts to bring his killers to justice”.

Meanwhile, Punch News had reported that the incident occurred at Decima area of Sapele between Saturday night and early Sunday as Cyril lifeless body was found in the pool of his blood on Sunday morning. The gruesome murder has subsequently thrown the entire area into pandemonium while the local vigilante and other security operatives have been battling to unravel the mysteries surrounding the killing. The paper was quoted as reporting that local source said that the gunmen   who reportedly operated like hired assassins “came directly to the late Makanaki’s apartment and instructed him to open the door for them, which the late Cyril refused”

“The gunmen forcefully gained entrance by breaking the door into the apartment and shooting him. This looks like an assassination because the late Cyril was not robbed of anything. He was rushed to a private hospital where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead on arrival”, the source who would not want his name published told journalists.

Another source however stated that the assailants were possibly members of an armed robbery syndicate who were in the locality on robbery operation”
