DELTA-The All Progressive Congress, APC, Delta State Chapter has alleged an attack at its rented building in Udu Local government Area of the state by suspected thugs who disguised as EndSars protesters during the week. According to a press statement issued by the party through the state Publicity Secretary, Sylvester Imonina, Esq, the party noted, that, some disgruntle elements who have seen the progress and giant strides made so far weighed in to destroy property , wondering why such hoodlums could attack opposition’s office. The press release reads:
“Yesterday, the 23rd of October, 2020, some misguided elements masquerading as #ENDSARS protesters invaded the rented property housing the APC Local Government Party’s Secretariat in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, wherein there was wanton destruction of property. Aside the above, information available to us has it that there were/are threats to unleash mayhem on the Party’s faithful and its Leaders at all levels in the State. Though, the reasons for this acts of malicious damage, brigandage and threats is still sketchy, Delta APC dare to say that it was a hatchet job by those whose hobby it is to paint our noble Party as being responsible for the backwardness of Delta State in the areas of human and capital development”
“It is indeed sad that some misguided elements who ought to know that Delta APC has never being in political power in Delta State since 1999 till date, misdirected their energies towards causing harm to the properties/facilities of the Party and the Party’s Stalwarts. What for! We want to use this medium to call on all Party faithful and Leaders to be very conscious of their environment and/or anywhere they find themselves. Times are very precarious! Delta APC calls on security agencies in the State to up their game by protecting lives and properties of Deltans, especially APC members and Leaders who are now targets of evil doers in the State”
“To those “who can believe anything because of political bias”, and allow some unscrupulous elements in the State to use them to cause harm to their fellow brothers and sisters, we pray that you extricate yourselves from evil manipulations. Change for good before the long arm of the law catches up with you. Let us allow good counsel to prevail”
